Welcome to the web-site for the Garda Cycling Club.
The Garda Cycling Club, which is affiliated to ‘Cycling Ireland’, the governing body for Irish cycling, is made up of members of An Garda Siochana, the Irish Police Service. The Club was formed in 1977 and currently has approximately 80 members.

Club members are involved in all aspects of the sport of cycling, including Road Racing, Touring & Leisure and Mountain Biking.
In the last number of years, Club members have competed internationally on Garda Teams in the European Police Championships and in the World Police & Fire Games. The Garda Cycling Club has also had teams compete in the internationally renowned FBD Insurance Ras (formally FBD Milk Ras and Ras Tailteann). Two previous Club members have won the Ras Tailteann outright. They were Ben McKenna, who won the Ras in 1959 and Brian Connaughton, who won the Ras in 1969.
The Club is dedicated to the promotion of cycling as a sport and leisure activity for members of An Garda Siochana. We hope you enjoy your visit to the site. Please contact us via e-mail at secretary@gardacyclingclub.com if you have any comments or require further information.
