Stubborn Mule Sportive – 2013

The 2013 Garda/Richies Bikestore/Ethos CC  ’Stubborn Mule Sportive’ will take place on Saturday the 11th of May 2013.

Starting location for this event is the Westmanstown Sports & Leisure Centre, Clonsilla, Dublin 15.

(NOT Garda Boat Club, Islandbridge, Dublin 8 as previously advertised)

As in 2012, the sportive will have two distance options of 100km & 50km.

100km route starts at 10.30am.

50km route starts at 12.30pm

Parking, showers and refreshments available to all participants.

Entry cost is €20.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

A very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all our club members and their families and friends.

2012 was a great year for the Garda Cycling Club, with Garda CC riders competing in all the major racing & leisure events nationwide. In September 2012 a Garda men’s & ladies team competed in the European Police Cycling Championships in Ploeren, France, where the Garda ladies took silver (Caroline RYAN) in the individual Time Trial, gold in the Time Trial (team event) and gold in the individual road race (Sandra FITZGERALD).

2012 was ‘topped off’ with our ‘Evening with the Roches’, which was undoubtedly the event of the Irish cycling calendar!!!!

In 2013, a Garda CC men’s team will compete in the An Post Ras in May 2013, followed by a Garda CC ladies team competing in Ras na mBan in September 2013. This in addition to the regular Club events, which include the ‘Stubborn Mule Sportive’ in May 2013, makes 2013 a very very busy year for the Club.

Garda Duathlon Championships 2013

The inaugural Garda Duathlon Championships will take place in the Phoenix Park on the 23rd January 2013.

Please make sure you come out and support this great event, which is supported by the Garda Cycling Club.

2012 Santa Cycle

The 2012 Garda Cycling Club “Santa Cycle” will take place from Westmanstown Sports Centre, Clonsilla, Dublin 15 on Sunday the 23rd of December 2012 at 10am.Image

This is a fun event and all are invited. Everyone taking part is encouraged to wear Santa suits and decorate bikes with lights, tinsel etc.

Breakfast will be provided FOC to all 2012 Garda CC members and for a special rate of €6 for non Garda CC members.

The pace and distance will not be too taxing (we promise) for those of a delicate nature! This event was a great success in 2011, so come out and help make it a permanent club fixture. Contact our Leisure Reps, Gerry Quinn or Joe Ryan to confirm attendance.
